2024 Rice Trailers 7×18+4 Promax Industrial 21K Equipment Trailer
This is the heavy end of the Rice equipment line, model FMHDMH8222. An 18-foot main deck with a 4-foot beavertail behind it, a 21,000 lb GVWR on the plate, and 4,100 lbs of empty weight for a 16,900 lb payload. Contractors running full-size skid steers, tractors, or a mid-size excavator are who this is built for.
The beavertail and ramps
The 4-foot beavertail drops the rear of the deck so the ramps meet the ground at a workable angle instead of a cliff. Ramps are 5 feet, spring assisted, and full width. Full width matters more than most buyers expect. Wide-track machines and anything with an offset attachment can be walked on without threading two narrow ramps by mirror, and it makes loading a one-person job instead of a two-person argument.
The trade-off with a beavertail is that the last four feet of deck is not flat. If you regularly haul pallets or a long low load, that section works against you. For rolling equipment it is the right layout.
Hitching and build
A hydraulic jack was added at build alongside the standard 10,000 lb jack, which takes the work out of lifting a heavy tongue. The tongue and main frame are 6″ channel with 3″ formed channel crossmembers under pressure-treated decking. Finish is complete powder coat in black. The wiring harness is fully sealed and modular with LED lighting and an emergency breakaway kit. An integrated storage box rides up front.
One item to verify before delivery: the build sheet lists two 7,000 lb cambered EZ Lube braked axles and a 2-5/16″ 14,000 lb adjustable coupler against a 21,000 lb GVWR. Those numbers do not line up on their face, and we will confirm the axle and coupler ratings against the VIN plate before this trailer ships rather than guess for you.
