Acorn Machinery sells tractors, skid steers, compact and heavy equipment, and towable trailers out of Piscataway, New Jersey. New units and used machines, shipped anywhere in the continental United States for a flat $550.
That is the whole business. We are not a marketplace, not a lead broker, and not a listing site that hands you off to a third party once you have paid. The machine in the photographs is a machine we have, and the person who answers the phone can walk out and look at it.

Different buyers, same requirement: the machine has to show up when it was promised and do the work it was bought for.
How we source
New units come through established supply channels and arrive with manufacturer documentation and factory warranty intact.
Used equipment is where the judgment comes in. We buy from fleet retirements, contractor trade-ins, farm dispersals, and auction. We look at what the machine did in its working life before we look at the hour meter, because 3,000 hours of loading sand and 3,000 hours of breaking rock leave a very different machine behind. We pass on plenty. A machine with a bad structural repair, an unexplained hour meter, or a title problem does not get bought no matter what the price is.
Inspection before it goes on the site
Every unit gets a pre-delivery inspection at the Piscataway yard before it is listed. Cold start, hydraulics through the full range, undercarriage and running gear, structure and pivots, electrical and fault codes, and a check of the hour meter against ECM data where the machine reports it. Trailers get frame, axles, bearings, brakes, the full lighting circuit, coupler, and tires against the GVWR plate.
The findings go in the listing, including the ones that do not help us sell it. If a used loader has a weeping cylinder rod or 40% left on the tracks, that goes in the description with a photograph. It costs us a little on price and saves everybody a lot on arguments. The full checklist is on our Warranty page.
How we handle freight
Freight is the part of buying equipment online that usually goes wrong, so we took the guessing out of it. One flat $550 per order, anywhere in the lower 48, whether the machine is going to Delaware or Oregon. Loads move on flatbed, step deck, or lowboy with licensed and insured carriers. The driver calls ahead to set an appointment.
We would rather talk you out of a delivery that will not work than book a truck that cannot get down your lane. Send a photo of the approach and we will tell you straight. The details are in our Shipping Policy.

Equipment is a considered purchase. Most of our buyers ask questions for a week before they order, and that is fine. Call the yard, ask what the machine sounds like on a cold morning, ask what we would use it for. We will tell you when a unit is not right for the job you have described, even if it means selling you nothing that day.
