2021 Big Tex 6.5×16 6K Utility Trailer with Ramp Gate
Sixteen feet of deck at 6.5 feet wide, on two axles, rated 6,000 lbs gross. Model 60PI-16BK4RG2B. Empty weight is 1,630 lbs, which leaves 4,370 lbs of payload. It is a bigger and steadier trailer than the single-axle 6×12 most people start out with, and the difference shows up at highway speed.
Two axles instead of one
The second axle is the reason to buy this over something smaller. Load it a little uneven and it forgives you. Lose a tire and it stays on the road while you slow down. It also brings electric brakes, which a single-axle 3K trailer usually goes without, so your truck is not doing all the stopping on a long grade. What it costs you is weight, a wider turning circle, and two more tires to replace eventually. People who have owned both tend to keep the tandem.
Running gear
Two 3,500 lb premium cambered axles with quick-lubricating hubs and electric brakes, riding on multi-leaf springs with an equalizer. Frame and crossmembers are 3″x2″x3/16″ angle with treated pine decking. It was primed and painted properly rather than sprayed over bare steel, which is why a 2021 unit still looks like this.

The ramp gate folds flat for drive-on loading and stands back up as a rear barrier, which matters more than it sounds when you are hauling brush or bagged material. A spare tire and mount came with this one, so a flat on the shoulder is a twenty-minute job rather than a tow bill. Your vehicle needs a 2″ ball and a working 7-way connector to run the brakes. It is pre-owned, so check the tires, deck boards, and gate hinges before you sign. Freight is a flat $550 to the lower 48 with 30 days to return it. (712) 356-0109.
