Financing & Payment Options

Acorn Machinery does not lend, and we do not take a commission on where you borrow. That is worth saying up front, because plenty of equipment sellers quietly earn on the finance side and it shapes the advice you get. Ours does not.

What we do instead is make the machine easy to finance through whoever you choose, and hold it while your money comes together.

How most buyers pay for a machine

Buyers on this site typically fund a purchase one of four ways: a specialist equipment lender, a Farm Credit association, an SBA lender, or their own commercial bank. Each has a different appetite. Equipment lenders are fastest and will lend against the machine itself. Farm Credit is usually the cheapest money if you qualify as an agricultural borrower. SBA is slowest but stretches the term furthest. Your own bank already knows your balance sheet, which is worth a lot when the unit is a used machine with no dealer program behind it.

We will supply whatever your lender asks for: the invoice, the serial number, the hour reading, photographs, and the specification. Most lenders want the unit identified before they release funds, and we can turn that around the same day.

Holding a unit while finance is arranged

Every machine here is a single physical unit. When it sells, it is gone. A deposit takes it off the market so you are not racing a lender.

  • Deposit: typically 20% of the unit price, or a flat $2,500 on smaller units. Card or ACH.
  • Hold period: 10 calendar days as standard, and longer by agreement if you are waiting on a lender or a fiscal year to turn over. Ask — we would rather extend than lose you.
  • Fully refundable: deposits are refundable in full up to the point of dispatch. Cancel before the load is picked up and you get 100% back, freight included.
  • If a hold lapses and you have not asked for an extension, the deposit is refunded in full and the unit goes back on the site. We call you before that happens.

Buying on account

Contractors, farms, municipalities and fleets can order against a purchase order and pay on invoice once an account is approved. Email sales@acornmachinery.com with your legal business name, billing address, federal tax ID and two trade references. Account review takes 3 to 5 business days.

Approved accounts are set at Net 30 against a stated credit limit, and larger limits are considered on trading history. We accept purchase orders from municipal and government buyers and will match invoice formatting to your AP requirements. Send resale or tax exemption certificates before you order so the invoice is right the first time. Overdue balances carry interest at 1.5% per month, or the maximum permitted by New Jersey law, whichever is lower.

What we do not do

We do not offer in-house finance, lease-to-own, or rent-to-own. We do not run credit checks, and we do not pass your details to a lender panel. If someone contacts you claiming to arrange Acorn Machinery finance, it is not us.

Questions on any of this: call (951) 561-4246 or email sales@acornmachinery.com. Full detail is on our Payment Methods page.
