High Country Trailers 101×12 Aluminum 2-Place Hybrid, 2022

This is the plain, useful end of the two-place market. A 2022 High Country HFS101x12 in white, pre-owned, all aluminum, 1,044 lbs empty. No V-nose, no long options list. It hauls two sleds under a roof and it will not rust, which is most of what a snowmobile trailer needs to do.

What “hybrid” means on this trailer

Hybrid and crossover both describe the same idea: an enclosed box short enough and low enough to tow like an open trailer. You get 64 inches of interior height and a 93 by 62 rear opening, so you load standing up but not tall. The nose is a round radius with diamond plate over it, which takes the stone chips that would otherwise pit the sheet.

Full-length slide tracks with D-rings run down the deck. A previous owner added track mats, which is worth real money if you have ever tried to walk a sled up cold aluminum. A spare tire came with it as well.

Buying it used

Torsion axles do not announce their age. Roll it, watch how the wheel sits, and look for a suspension arm riding lower on one side than the other. Check the tie-down tracks for spread holes and work the door hardware cold if you can. Tires that look fine can still be date-coded old.

The axle is an idler, so there are no trailer brakes. That is standard at 2,990 lbs and legal in most states, but it does mean your truck does all the stopping. In exchange you get a trailer light enough to push around by hand.
