Loading and interior
The beavertail flattens the rear approach so low cars clear the threshold instead of dragging a splitter across it. Interior height is approximately 7.5 feet. Walls and ceiling are white screwless aluminum, which makes a difference when you are working inside a 40-foot box with the doors shut. The floor is black coin: grippy underfoot, and it hides the scuffs that come with repeated loading. Four 5,000# D-rings sit recessed into the floor so straps lie flat and nothing catches a rocker panel.
The escape door includes a removable wheel well. That is the difference between a driver stepping out normally and climbing across a seat after tucking a car tight against the wall. Up front, the tapered nose trims some drag, but the hydraulic jack is what you will appreciate day to day. Hitching a loaded gooseneck on a hand crank gets old in a hurry.
