Fourteen feet of box, seven feet wide, seven feet tall, and it hitches to a ball. That is the whole case for a bumper-pull slant load. You can park it beside the barn and tow it with a three-quarter-ton without giving up the truck bed to a gooseneck hitch.
4-Star builds at the premium end of the horse trailer market and this 2001 shows where the money went. Extruded aluminum sides instead of sheet-and-post. Rubber-lined walls, which do two useful things: they keep a horse from banging a hock on bare metal, and they cut road noise inside the stalls. Anybody who has hauled in a bare aluminum trailer knows how loud they get at sixty.
Ventilation is handled properly. Drop-down windows on the head side, sliders on the hip side and in the rear doors, roof vents overhead. You can move air through the trailer rolling or standing still in a show lot. Interior lights make a 5 a.m. load-out less of an argument.
Tack and storage
The fixed rear tack carries two saddle racks, two brush boxes, and bridle hooks. The front dressing room adds more hooks and a camper door. Between the two compartments there is a home for everything a two-horse operation actually hauls.

Watch the weight on this one. Empty it is 4,530 lbs against an 8,045 lb GVWR, which leaves about 3,500 lbs of payload. Two 1,200 lb horses plus tack, hay, and a full water tank gets you closer to that line than most buyers expect. It is a real limit, not a paper one. Check your truck’s tongue weight rating while you are at it.
