Slant-load two-horse, torsion axles, and a service history. This 2007 Circle J is aimed at the owner who hauls regularly and would rather buy a used trailer that has already been gone through than one that has not.
It came in serviced: brakes inspected, wheel bearings packed, every interior and exterior light tested, roof seams checked and sealed. The wood floor is sound and the tires are in good shape. On a trailer approaching twenty years old, those four items are most of the risk.
The slant-load trade-off
Angling horses across the trailer uses the box more efficiently than a straight load, and most horses balance better standing on a diagonal. What you give up is stall length. A 16-hand-plus horse can end up crowded in a slant stall built to average dimensions, so measure your animals before you commit. Interior height here is 7 feet and width is 6 feet 7 inches. Double rear doors open the back wide for loading.
Ventilation and security are handled together. Drop-down windows move air through the horse area, and drop-down jail bars behind them mean you can leave the windows open at a rest stop without a horse getting its head out. Rubber mats run throughout the horse area for footing and to keep the wood floor dry. Three swing-out saddle racks and bridle hooks hold tack, and there is a water tank on board for longer runs.
Torsion axles rated 3,500 lbs each ride independently, which usually means a smoother trailer over rough pavement than leaf springs and no equalizer parts to wear out. Electric brakes on both axles. The coupler takes a 2-5/16 inch ball, so check your hitch before you drive out.
