1995 Featherlite 2HSLBP Two Horse Bumper Pull
A thirty-year-old trailer sounds like a gamble until you remember what aluminum does not do: rust through the floor. That is the case for this Featherlite 2HSLBP. It hauls two horses straight-load, carries tack in a 2-foot short-wall dressing room, and hooks to a bumper ball. Nothing exotic about it. That is most of the appeal.
Weight is the story here
Empty weight runs about 2,800 lbs against a 7,000 lb GVWR. Two average horses plus a dressing room full of saddles lands you comfortably under the rating, and the whole rig sits inside what a half-ton pickup or a properly equipped SUV can legally pull. Light trailers behave better on the road, too. Less mass to shove you around in a crosswind, less drama backing into a barn lot at dusk.
The trade-off is worth saying out loud. A 2,800 lb aluminum box does not plant itself on the highway the way a heavy steel gooseneck does. Load it evenly, keep tongue weight honest, and it tows fine. Get sloppy with the balance and you will feel it in the mirrors.
Layout and clearance
The 2-foot short wall is small on purpose. It holds tack without adding four feet of trailer behind your truck. Long wall measures 7 feet, box length 15 feet, outside width 7 feet. Inside height is 7 feet, roughly 21 hands of clearance. Measure your tallest horse at the poll before you commit. A 17-hand warmblood that travels with its head up is a different question than a quarter horse.

What to check before you buy
Buy this one with eyes open. On any trailer from 1995 the honest inspection list is short: aluminum floor and crossmembers, wheel bearings, tire date codes, and a working brake and light test.
