Inside height is the reason to look at this one. Seven feet six inches of headroom, roughly 22.5 hands, is more than most two-horse trailers give you, and it matters if you are hauling a tall warmblood or a horse that throws its head when the brakes come on. The 2013 Shadow 2HSL is all aluminum, arrived clean, and rides on a 13-foot box that still fits in a normal driveway.
Up front there is a dressing room with a 2-foot short wall and a 7-foot long wall. That is enough for saddles, blankets and grooming supplies without eating into stall space. Tandem 3,500 lb axles carry the load, 15-inch tires ride under it, and a spare comes with the trailer. The jack is manual, which is one fewer thing to fail on a rainy shoulder.

Aluminum was the right call on a trailer this age. Steel two-horses from 2013 are usually fighting rust in the floor frame and around the fender seams by now. Aluminum does not do that. What aluminum can do is fatigue at welds and hardware points, so on any used unit we look hard at the floor, the wiring runs, the brake magnets and the tire date codes. Those four items are what actually strand people.
Empty weight is around 2,800 lbs against a 7,000 lb GVWR. Two average horses plus a full tack load puts you close to the rating, so a half-ton with the tow package is workable but not generous. If you regularly haul two big horses and everything you own, a three-quarter-ton gives you margin you will be glad to have on a mountain grade.
