2022 Mission Trailers 6×12 Aluminum Open Utility w/Integrated Rear Ramp

Four hundred thirty-five pounds dry. That is the number that sells this trailer. You can push a 6×12 aluminum utility around a driveway by hand, hitch it to a four-cylinder crossover, and still have 1,765 lbs of payload against its 2,200 lb GVWR. A steel 6×12 weighs roughly double and gives you less to work with.

The deck measures 57 inches wide by 142 inches long with 20-inch fixed sides in .086 aluminum. Those sides are the difference between a flatbed and something you can throw mulch, brush, bagged concrete or a load of boxes into without watching half of it leave on the highway. Fenders are welded aluminum. Nothing on this trailer rusts.

The ramp

The rear ramp is integrated: the whole tailgate folds down into a drive-on surface for a mower or an ATV, then folds back flush. No separate ramps to store, lose or lift. On a used trailer this is the first thing we check, because a bent or sagging fold-down gate is expensive to make right.

Know what you are getting on the running gear. It is a single 2K leaf-spring idler axle, which means no brakes, and the 4-way flat connector reflects that. At 2,200 lbs gross it sits under the braking threshold in most states, but check your own before you load it heavy and head down a grade. If you routinely haul at the top of that number in hill country, buy something with brakes instead.

This is the middle size in utility trailers and the most useful one for a homeowner. A single zero-turn fits. An ATV fits. A studio apartment’s worth of furniture fits. It came with a wheel jack and two D-rings added, and it carries a 1-year limited warranty. Confirm your vehicle has a 2-inch ball and a 4-way flat plug and you are ready to go.
