Power away from a plug is what separates this ROM 550 from the rest of the 24-foot aluminum field. The 30-amp electrical package runs through a converter to a lithium battery, so lights, tools and a fan work in a paddock at midnight or on a job site with no service pole in sight. Two dome lights with switches and two manual roof vents finish the setup, and there is A/C prep plus awning prep if you go further.
Lithium matters here more than the spec sheet suggests. It takes a deeper discharge than a flooded battery without shortening its life, it weighs less, and it does not need to sit upright and vented. On a trailer you will run down and recharge every weekend, that is the difference between a battery that lasts two seasons and one that lasts eight.
Body and chassis
The exterior is .040 black screwless aluminum, a heavier gauge than the .030 skin most enclosed trailers use, which resists denting from stones and ladder edges. Two 5,200 lb spread torsion axles sit under skirting, giving 10,400 lbs of axle capacity and a cleaner side profile. The tongue is an extended 56-inch triple tube, so you have room to jackknife hard at a gate without the trailer nose meeting the truck’s bumper.
Interior
Plus Package with .030 white aluminum walls and ceiling over black coin flooring. White straight overhead and base cabinet. Four recessed D-rings. Interior spare mount with an aluminum spare. A 36-inch side door with an aluminum slide-out step handles daily traffic, and the premium escape door gives you a way out after the car is parked tight. LifeTrac track runs the walls, so cabinets, a sofa, helmet racks and hooks move where you want them rather than where the factory drilled.
Loading is by beavertail with a winch plate up front. Interior height is about 7 feet. Measure a tall vehicle before you commit.
