Three axles. That is the first thing to notice on this 26-foot ATC Stacker ROM 800, and it is not decoration. Three 6,000-pound spread Dexter torsion axles put 18,000 pounds of axle capacity under a trailer carrying two cars on two decks. A twin-axle stacker asks each axle to do too much. This one does not.
How the deck works
A tiltable 14-foot stacker lift raises one car so a second rolls in below. Interior height runs about 11 feet 4 inches to make room for it. The ramp door is rated at 6,000 pounds, and the flat nose gives you every inch of usable length rather than losing three feet to a V. A hydraulic tongue jack and a 2-5/16 inch coupler handle hookup.
Plan the route, not just the load
A stacker stands tall and loads heavy. Overhead clearances, bridge heights, canopies and your own shop door all become part of the purchase decision. Loaded weight sits higher too, which changes how the rig behaves in crosswind. The three-axle spread helps considerably, but you still want a truck genuinely rated for the whole combination.
