Most used three-horse slants are bought on price. This 2008 Exiss Sport ES 30B is worth a look on how it is finished. The horse area is lined and insulated with white aluminum sheet, and rubber lining runs 48 inches up every wall with an aluminum kick plate behind it. That is the section a horse actually kicks, and lining it is what keeps a ten-year-old trailer from looking beaten.
Ventilation got the same attention. Street-side drop-down feed windows have drop-down safety bars, so you can run them open with horses aboard. Curbside 15 x 24 inch windows come barred and screened. Every stall gets its own two-way pop-up roof vent, which means you can pull air out at a standstill or push it in while moving.
Loading and stall hardware
The slant dividers separate body, shoulder and head, with a slam-latch system so you are not fighting pins one-handed while holding a lead rope. Rear doors are 50/50 with a 15 x 24 window and aluminum cam locks, plus an in-load door. A custom rear tack wall with a hide-away divider, halter hooks and a dome light handles gear, and the swing-out saddle rack keeps saddles reachable. Hay mangers are removable. A solid roof-to-floor wall separates the dressing room from the horses.
Underneath
The floor is interlocking extruded aluminum plank over 2 x 4 inch I-beams, with lifetime rubber mats on top. Rubber torsion axles carry electric brakes. Wind-jack landing gear with a wheel makes moving it around by hand practical. Five 16-inch six-hole steel wheels on bias tires, spare included.
