Drive-over fenders are the reason to look at this one. On a standard car hauler the fenders sit inside the deck and your usable width is whatever is between them, which rules out dual-wheel trucks, wide-track race cars and most equipment. Here the deck runs the full 102 in and the fenders are part of the driving surface. Anything up to 102 in wide loads straight on.
There is a cost to that layout and it is worth saying out loud. Because the deck has to clear the tires, it sits higher than a between-fenders trailer of the same rating. Higher deck means a steeper ramp angle with the same 5 ft slide-in ramps. If you are loading something with three inches of ground clearance, measure before you buy. For trucks, equipment and normal cars it is a non-issue.
Build
Six-inch channel frame and tongue. Two 7,000 lb Dexter EZ-Lube axles with electric brakes on leaf spring suspension, for a 14,000 lb GVW. Floor is 2 in treated Southern Yellow Pine, which is thicker than the 1.5 in decking on lighter trailers and it shows when you are running a jack under a car.
Details that last
The lighting carries a lifetime warranty and runs on a -65F arctic wiring harness. That temperature rating is not marketing. Standard PVC wire insulation goes brittle and cracks in cold weather, and a cracked harness is the single most common reason a trailer fails a roadside light check in January. The frame is sandblasted before an IFS powdercoat finish in charcoal, with black wheels.
Tie-downs are four D-rings plus stake pockets down both sides. Built to DOT and NATM standards.
