Two thousand nine hundred pounds empty. That number is the reason people buy Featherlite. A 7,000 lb GVWR two-horse that weighs under 3,000 lbs unloaded stays within reach of a well-equipped half-ton, and the all-aluminum construction is why. There is no steel frame under the floor waiting to rust out in year twelve.
The 9400 is Featherlite’s bumper-pull two-horse. This one is a 2012 in used condition: 13’10” of box on a seven-foot width, 7’6″ tall inside, riding on tandem 3,500 lb axles under aluminum wheels. Spare tire is included.
Storage splits front and rear. Up front sits a 24-inch short-wall dressing and tack room. Small, but enough for saddles, pads, and a grooming tote. At the back the tack section is removable, so you can pull it out when you need full stall depth or when you are hauling something that is not a horse.
Drop-down windows with drop-down bars run the head side. The bars are the important part. A horse that decides to put its head out at sixty is a problem you only get to have once. Rubber mats underfoot give footing on the road and turn cleanup into a hose-out.

The trade-off with a light aluminum trailer is stiffness. They ride firmer than a heavy steel rig and they show dents more readily, because there is less material between your horse and the outside world. Against that you get corrosion resistance, easier towing, and a resale market that stays strong. Featherlites hold value better than most of what we take in.
Before you tow: confirm your truck is rated comfortably above 7,000 lbs with the trailer loaded, not at the empty sticker. On a used unit, check the floor, the brake magnets, tire date codes, and that every drop-down latch still holds under pressure. Those are part of our pre-sale inspection and we will walk you through what we found.
