All-aluminum gooseneck, twelve-foot box, 2014 Sundowner. This is a compact rig by gooseneck standards. The 12′ box and 2′ short wall put it at the small end of the range, and that is the whole point of it. You get gooseneck towing manners in a trailer that still fits down a farm lane and into an ordinary show parking spot.
A gooseneck hitch sits over your truck’s rear axle instead of behind it. The load presses down through the axle rather than levering off the back bumper, so the trailer tracks straighter, wanders less in wind, and backs where you point it. Horses feel that difference. So does your neck after four hours of interstate.
Aluminum construction takes corrosion out of the equation and keeps empty weight near 3,200 lbs against an 8,750 lb GVWR. Two 3,500 lb axles ride on 16-inch tires, a size that runs cooler and lasts longer than the 15s under many trailers this size. The jack is electric, which you will appreciate the first time you hitch alone in the rain. Spare is included.

Be clear about what the 2′ short wall gives you. It is storage, not a changing room. Saddles, bridles, a trunk, feed buckets. If you wanted somewhere to change clothes or bed down at a show, this is not that trailer, and no amount of describing it will make it one.
Inside height is 7’0″, about 21 hands. Fine for stock horses and quarter horses. Tight for a 17-hand warmblood, and we would steer that buyer toward something taller rather than sell them a problem.
