This is a steel trailer and we are not going to dress that up. WW built the 2HSL for ranch work. Steel is heavier, wants paint attention, and rusts if you neglect it. Steel is also cheaper to buy, repairable at any welding shop in the country, and it takes a kick from a horse without tearing. At this price the steel argument makes sense.
Straight load with a dressing room
Two horses, straight load, front dressing room with a 2-foot short wall and a 7-foot long wall, in a 12-foot box. Gear stays dry and separated from the horses, which matters more than people expect the first time a loose saddle slides into a stall on a hard stop.
Room and rating
About 7 feet of inside height, roughly 21 hands of clearance, and about 7 feet outside width. Empty weight is around 2,800 pounds against a 7,000 lb GVWR on tandem 3,500 lb axles and 15-inch tires. That is 4,200 pounds of capacity. Two average horses and their tack, not two drafts.
What to look at
Floor boards first. Then brake function, wiring and tire age. On a steel trailer, also run a hand along the underside of the frame rails and look inside the fender wells. Surface rust at eighteen years is normal. Flaking scale is not, and it is the difference between a trailer worth buying and one worth passing on.
