Racers who live out of the trailer at a weekend event are the buyer for this one. It is a 2026 ATC ROM 550: 28 feet of insulated aluminum box on two 6,000# spread torsion axles, finished in .040 black screwless skin. What separates it from a plain car hauler is the LifeTrac wall system.
LifeTrac is a track-and-bracket setup running the interior walls. Cabinets, a sofa, helmet racks, hooks, tool holders. They mount to the track and come back off without drilling a new hole. If your program changes between seasons, you rearrange instead of rebuild. This unit already carries white straight overhead and base cabinets, with 40 inches of carpet up the walls and black coin flooring underneath.
Power is a 50 amp package with A/C prep and awning prep, so adding a rooftop unit later is a wiring job rather than surgery. Two manual roof vents and two dome lights on a wall switch cover the basics.
Getting the car in and yourself out
Rear access is a 4,000# ramp door with a transition flap. The beavertail and its 24-inch stoneguard drop the approach angle for anything with a low front lip, and the stoneguard takes the gravel that a car hauler always throws. Four 5,000# recessed D-rings anchor the tie-downs. The premium escape door has a removable wheel, which sounds like a minor item until you have parked a car with two inches of door clearance. Up front, the 56-inch extended triple tube tongue and two bogey wheels make backing and hand-positioning much less of a fight.
One honest note on towing. Two 6,000# axles under 28 feet means a loaded weight that most half-ton trucks have no business pulling. Check your rating against the car plus the gear you actually carry, not against the empty trailer. Structural warranty runs five years.
