The 165 is the tractor that taught a generation of farmers what a mid-size Massey does. Four-cylinder Perkins, 60 horsepower, two-wheel drive, six speeds. Nothing on it is electronic. That is the whole appeal.
Sixty horsepower still moves a topper, a set of harrows, a mid-size baler or a loader on a smallholding. Plenty of these are bought now for restoration and for shows, and plenty more are still working quietly on farms that never saw a reason to replace them.

The dry brake question
This one has dry brakes. Its bigger stablemate, the 185, runs oil-immersed brakes. Dry brakes are cheaper to service and perfectly fine on dry ground and hard standing. They do not love standing water, mud and river crossings, and the linings wear faster if you work in the wet. If your ground is heavy for half the year, look at the 185 instead. If it is not, the 165 will save you money and do the same job.
