Brakes on both axles. On a 7,000 lb car hauler that is not a given, and plenty of trailers at this rating brake one axle only. Both axles braked is the spec that keeps a loaded trailer behaving on a long descent, and it is the first thing we would check on any competitor’s unit at this price.
The frame is 5 in channel, riding on multi-leaf spring suspension. Twenty feet of deck, seven feet wide, in a black and gray powder coat.
What 7,000 lb actually buys you
One car. Maybe a car and a toolbox. The GVWR is the gross figure and the trailer’s own weight comes off the top before you load anything, so the usable payload is well under 7,000 lb. A mid-size sedan or a small SUV is comfortable. A three-quarter-ton pickup is not, and neither is a compact tractor with a loader. If that is what you are hauling, step up to a 14,000 lb trailer and do not talk yourself into this one.
For a classic car, a project vehicle, a couple of ATVs or a UTV, it is exactly the right size and it tows behind a half-ton truck without drama.
Fenders
The fenders are removable rather than drive-over. That means the usable width between them is less than the full 7 ft, so a wide-track vehicle needs measuring first. The upside is a lower deck height and a shallower ramp angle than a drive-over trailer, plus you can pull a fender off entirely when you need to open a car door or work alongside the load.
Slide-in ramps and stake pockets down both sides for tie-downs are included.
