9,990 lb GVW is a deliberate number. It keeps the trailer under the 10,000 lb line, which for a lot of registrations and a lot of employers is the difference between routine paperwork and a whole extra layer of it. Check with your registrar before you assume you need 14,000.
22 feet of 102-inch deck on a 5-inch channel frame and tongue, with structural channel crossmembers rather than the angle iron most trailers in this bracket use. That is the spec that separates it from the cheap end of the lot.
Loading
Drive-over fenders across the full 102 inches, and 5-foot slide-in ramps that store underneath the deck instead of taking up room on it. A full-length rub rail plus stake pockets gives you tie-down points anywhere along the trailer.
Upgrades included
- 7,000 lb setback drop-leg jack
- Adjustable cast coupler
- Smooth removable fenders
- Charcoal powdercoating
Running gear and wiring
Dexter EZ-Lube axles with electric brakes. Arctic wiring harness, which stays flexible in cold weather instead of going brittle and cracking at the connectors. LED lights carry a lifetime warranty. The deck is 2-inch treated Southern Yellow Pine.
Fair warning on 5-foot ramps. They work for most cars, but a low front splitter will still catch. If you haul lowered vehicles regularly, add longer ramps or look at a beavertail model instead.
