2024 Griffin Trailers 5×10 7K Powder Coated Dump Trailer
The small dump trailer a half-ton truck can actually live with. Empty weight is 1,895 lbs, GVWR is 7,000 lbs, and payload works out to 5,105 lbs. Landscapers, property managers, and homeowners with a long gravel driveway are the usual buyers. It moves mulch, topsoil, brush, and light demolition debris without requiring a bigger truck first.
Ten feet is a deliberate size
A 5×10 box parks in a normal driveway and backs into a residential side yard without a spotter. What you give up is volume. Five yards of mulch is not going in this trailer, and a load of wet stone will hit the weight rating long before the box looks full. That is true of every dump trailer, but it bites soonest on a small one, so buy on payload, not on box volume.
The hydraulics
A 3×30 lift cylinder runs off a 12V DC pump with power up and power down. Powered descent matters more than it sounds like it should. You can close the bed against a partial load or bring it down under control on soft ground instead of letting gravity drop it. A deep cycle marine battery feeds the pump and holds charge between jobs. The rear gate is a barn door that swings wide for bulk dumping. There is no spreader function on this build, so if you need to lay stone in a band as you creep forward, look at a 2-way gate instead.

Floor and walls are 12ga smooth steel under black powder coat, which survives bucket loading better than paint does. EZ Lube axles ride equalized leaf springs on 15-inch radials. Wiring is a 7-way round plug into a 3-piece plug-and-play harness feeding LED lamps, which makes a roadside light repair a swap rather than a splice. Tarp brackets are fitted from the factory, though Griffin lists brackets separately from a tarp kit, so ask us to confirm what ships with this specific unit.
