Forty-inch sides change what a dump trailer is for. On mulch, brush, demolition debris and anything else that is bulky rather than dense, side height is the limit long before weight is. This one is built to fill.
GVW is 17,600 lb on a pair of 8,000 lb axles, with forward self-adjusting electric brakes on both. The hoist is a 12-ton three-stage telescopic, which lifts a full load of wet material without the hesitation you get from an undersized scissor setup. Tongue is 8 in I-beam.
Running gear
Heavy-duty tandem suspension on multi-leaf slipper springs, 17.5 in 16-ply tires, oil bath hubs and larger brake drums. Oil bath hubs are the detail to notice. On a trailer that spends its life loaded and hot, they run cooler than grease and you can see the oil level through the cap instead of guessing.
Truck requirement
Be honest with yourself about the tow vehicle. Loaded to 17,600 lb this needs a 3/4-ton at absolute minimum and realistically a one-ton with a properly rated hitch and brake controller. A half-ton pickup will not legally or safely pull it loaded, whatever the tongue weight looks like sitting empty in the yard. Check your truck’s rating before you order.
Also worth saying: with 40 in sides you will hit the axle rating on wet dirt or gravel long before the box is full. Load material by weight, not by eye. The tall sides earn their keep on light bulky loads.
Details
Side-step access and rear stabilizer stands are included. Finish is Sherwin-Williams Super Durable powder coat, which holds up better than the economy coatings on cheaper dump trailers, particularly around the hinge and the rear frame where salt collects.
