Oil bath hubs are worth the words
Most trailers in this class run grease-packed hubs and a grease gun on your maintenance list. Oil bath hubs run the bearings in a sealed oil reservoir with a clear cap, so you check the level by looking at it rather than pulling a hub. Over a long working life they run cooler and last longer. They are also less forgiving if you damage a seal and ignore it, so glance at the caps when you walk the trailer.
The hoist
Twelve tons of three-stage telescopic hoist mounted centrally. Three stages get the bed to a steeper angle than a single-stage cylinder can, which is what you need when the load is wet clay or packed spoil that does not want to leave. A scissor hoist would be cheaper and would struggle with the same load.
Details that show up later
Side steps so you are not climbing the tire to reach the bed. Rear stabiliser stands to keep the trailer planted while the bed is up, which matters more with 40-inch sides and a high load. Enhanced 3-3/8 inch brake drums, bigger than the class standard. The 17.5 inch 16-ply tires are the correct rubber for the weight; undersized-tire dump trailers are the most common failure we see.
