Eleven point two miles per hour is the number that sells this mower. On a big open property, top speed is what decides whether the lawn takes two hours or three, and the Z700 EFI series is the quickest thing in its class. The Z781KWTi-60 pairs that speed with a 60-inch deck, so the ground disappears fast.
The engine is a Kawasaki FX850V-EFI rated at 29.5 hp on gasoline. Electronic fuel injection is the meaningful upgrade over the carburetted models: it starts cold without coaxing, holds engine speed under load in thick grass, and does not gum up over a winter of sitting. Drive is a pair of Parker HTG14 transmissions, one per wheel, each with its own integrated pump and motor.

Deck and cut
The deck is fabricated rather than stamped, 6 inches deep and fully welded from 8-gauge steel. Deep decks hold the grass upright longer before the blade meets it, which is why they cut cleaner in heavy growth. The trade is weight and price.
Comfort on a long day
The suspension seat slides six inches front to back and has three inches of vertical travel that adjusts to operator weight and terrain. Fuel sits under the seat, which keeps the center of gravity low and helps on slopes. Battery and harness are reached by lifting the seat panel, and the fuel shutoff and fuses live under there too. There is a 12V outlet and a cup holder.
The 24-inch low profile rear tires spread the load and reduce scuffing when you turn hard on soft turf. Flat $550 freight to the continental US, 30 days to return.
