One hour on the meter. This is a 2025 Z994R that has been started, checked and parked. A new mower without the new-mower price.
The Z994R is John Deere’s diesel zero-turn, which is a different proposition from the gas ZTrak machines sitting next to it on most lots. 24 hp diesel, 60-inch deck. If you mow eight hours a day for a living, diesel pays for itself in fuel burn and engine life. If you mow two acres on a Saturday, it does not, and you should buy the gas version instead.
Deck width is 60 inches. That is the right size for open ground and wide gates. It is the wrong size for a property full of tight beds and 48-inch gate posts, so measure before you order.
The seat is fully adjustable suspension. On a zero-turn there is no cab and no float, so the seat is the only suspension the machine has, and an adjustable one earns its keep.
Warranty on this unit is quoted at 3 years or 1,500 hours.
Drive type is 2WD. On a zero-turn that is normal and rarely a problem on flat, dry turf, but it is worth knowing if your ground includes wet banks. A 2WD zero-turn will spin a wheel on a damp slope, and no amount of deck width fixes that.
