Built in 1976 and still a straightforward tractor to own. The 185 is the step up from the 165: same Perkins four-cylinder family, more power at 75 hp, and oil-immersed brakes instead of dry ones.
Those brakes are the reason people go looking for a 185 specifically. Running in oil means the linings stay sealed away from grit and water. On wet, heavy ground that is the difference between a brake job every few seasons and a brake job you never think about. It costs more to rebuild when the day finally comes, but the day comes a lot later.

The listing describes this tractor as a standard transmission machine with power steering and a pick-up hitch fitted. The generic 185 spec sheet lists manual steering with power steering as an upgrade, so the two documents do not agree. Ring us and we will look at the actual tractor and tell you which it is. What it suits
Seventy-five horsepower and Cat 2 linkage cover most of what a small to mid-size operation asks of a tractor: mowing, hauling, loader work, mid-size implements on the back. Two-wheel drive is the limitation. On steep or persistently soft ground you will want weight up front and you will still find its edge sooner than a 4WD machine would.
