2025 Kubota RTV-X, model code RTVX2-PKLHS-1, new. A diesel utility vehicle with a 24.8 hp Kubota overhead valve engine, variable hydrostatic transmission and 4×4.
The reason to buy the diesel RTV over a gas side-by-side is engine braking. The hydrostatic drive holds the machine back on a descent without you riding the brake pedal, and with a loaded bed on a wet track that is the whole argument. It is not a fast machine and it is not trying to be one.
Load and tow
Payload capacity is 1,499 lb and towing is rated at 1,300 lb. The bed dumps hydraulically. The ProKonvert cargo box converts from a box to a flatbed in minutes without tools, which earns its keep if you alternate between hauling gravel and hauling lumber or pallets.
Fitted on this one
- Hydraulic dump bed
- ProKonvert cargo box
- Grill guard
- Windshield and canopy
Windshield and canopy, but not a full cab. You will still get wet in a side wind. If year-round enclosed comfort matters, price a cab at the same time rather than later.
Paint scheme is Worksite Orange.
The grill guard is worth a mention. On a machine that spends its life reversing into brush and nudging gates, the front end takes more abuse than anything else, and a guard is far cheaper than a radiator. This one has it from the factory.
