Kubota U55-5 – Stock #ACM-28681

The U in U55-5 is Kubota’s tight tail swing series. On a lot with buildings on both sides, that is the whole argument for this machine over a conventional-tail excavator of the same weight. You can swing a full load without watching the counterweight.

This one is a 2025 in cab and angle-blade trim. The V2607-CR-E5 puts out 47.6 hp from 159.6 cubic inches. Bucket breakout is 9,304 lbf, arm breakout 5,304 lbf. Travel is two-speed at 3.0 mph high and 1.7 mph low.

Hydraulics

Two variable pumps at 14.8 gpm each plus a 9.8 gpm gear pump. Auxiliary flow is 17.2 gpm on the primary circuit and 9.8 gpm on the secondary. The AUX1 circuit is proportional, with a maximum flow setting you dial in from the display, and there is a bi-directional proportional switch for running a hydraulic thumb, an auger or a breaker. The third-line return is electronic on this generation rather than a manual valve on the right bank, which is a small change that saves a lot of climbing out of the cab.

In the cab

Seven-inch color LCD with a jog dial, flat floor, dual adjustable seat and console, LED work lights, and an AC system with seven vents instead of the five on the older machine. Control pattern switches between ISO and SAE with the TPSS lever, no tools, no leaving the seat.

One thing to check

In running order with the angle blade this machine sits between 12,721 and 13,217 lb depending on tracks. Add a thumb and a couple of buckets and you are past what a 14,000 lb trailer will legally carry. Plenty of buyers find that out at the scale. Size your trailer first.
