This 2000 Sundowner 7204GNST was built for people hauling big horses. The interior stands 7’5″, about 22.25 hands. Most two-horse trailers stop at a flat seven feet, and a tall horse in a seven-foot box rides the whole way with his poll near the roof. That extra five inches is the reason to look at this one.
Sundowner’s build here is a steel frame under an aluminum skin. The steel carries the structural load and the aluminum keeps the outside from rusting off. It weighs more than an all-aluminum trailer of the same size. It also holds up. Empty weight is 3,400 lbs against an 8,750 lb GVWR, which leaves roughly 5,350 lbs of payload. Two horses, tack, water and feed fit inside that number with room left.
Dressing room and access
Four-foot short wall, four-foot long wall. That is a real dressing room and not a closet. Saddle racks, blankets, a bridle rail, and still floor space to stand while you sort gear. An escape door on the horse side lets you get out the front after loading, which is the difference between a routine morning and getting pinned against a divider. Jack is manual. Spare tire comes with it.

What to check before you buy
Gooseneck means a hitch mounted in your truck bed and a truck legally rated above 8,750 lbs loaded. A half-ton will not do that job. On a trailer of this age the floor is the first thing we look at, then tire date codes and brake magnets. The model code points toward a slant layout, but we will confirm the stall configuration and send photos rather than guess at it for you.
