The E85 is the largest excavator Bobcat builds. At 18,960 lb operating weight and 59 horsepower it is a full 8 ton class machine, and it digs like one. If you have been renting a 5 ton unit and finding yourself short on reach and lift, this is the step up.
This unit is a 2018 with 2,858 hours, serial B48411080, stock number 027734. It carries an enclosed rollover protection structure with air conditioning, and a thumb is fitted.

Two things to be straight about
First, this machine is not certified pre-owned. The listing records it as used, plainly, with no factory certification behind it. Some sellers blur that line. We would rather you know.
Second, 2,858 hours on an 8 ton machine is real service. Track wear, sprockets and idlers are the items to inspect, and we will photograph them for you on request. So is the swing bearing. None of that is unusual at this age, but it is what determines whether the price is right for you.
Against that, the new MSRP on this model was $74,990. The gap between that number and what a used E85 costs is the entire argument for buying used equipment. You get the same reach, the same lift chart and the same cab, and you accept that somebody else took the depreciation.
The thumb is already fitted, which saves you a bill and a week of downtime. Air conditioning works. An enclosed cab on an 8 ton machine is not a comfort item once you are running it in July on a paved site with no shade, and it holds resale value when you come to sell it on.
