The 85Z-1 is JCB zero tail swing 8 ton machine. The Z in the model designation is the whole point: the counterweight stays inside the track width through a full rotation. If your work is street cuts, alley work, or digging tight to a building, that single design choice is worth more than any other feature on the machine.
This one is a 2017 with 2,650 hours and an operating weight of 8,363 lb. It is the ECO variant. Hours in that range on an 8 ton class machine are middle of life, not near the end, and the price reflects a used unit rather than a fresh one.

Worth knowing before you buy
The quick attach is manual, not hydraulic. You get out of the cab and pull pins to change buckets. On a machine that mostly runs one bucket and a thumb, that costs you nothing. If you swap attachments six times a day, factor in the upgrade.
The 17 in. bucket is narrow for an 8 ton machine, which is right for utility trenching and wrong for bulk digging. A wider bucket is an easy add and we can quote one with the machine.
Rubber tracks at 17.5 in. keep it off pavement damage duty and keep ground pressure sensible on soft ground. Enclosed cab means you can run it in February. Auxiliary hydraulics are plumbed and the hydraulic thumb is already fitted.
