The 185 is a straightforward tractor. Four-cylinder Perkins, 75 horsepower, two-wheel drive, six speeds. No electronics to fail and no emissions plumbing to service. Farmers keep buying these forty years on for exactly that reason, and the parts supply is still good.
This one has been through the Silver Standard rebuild, which is a specific process rather than a marketing phrase. Roughly seventy hours of work go into each tractor.
What the rebuild covers
- Engine stripped and rebuilt with new pistons, liners, rings and full gasket sets, and a reconditioned cylinder head
- Clutch assembly rebuilt, transmission checked and serviced with parts replaced where needed
- Hydraulic pump rebuilt and the linkage rebuilt, then lift tested for pump and three point operation
- Front axle checked and serviced, brakes serviced with new parts as required
- Chassis, wheel rims and panels shot blasted and resprayed in hardwearing enamel
- New wiring loom, clocks and gauges, new starter and dynamo
- New front and rear tires
- Dyno tested for engine and PTO output, hydraulic lift tested, then road tested for steering, brakes and gears

The one thing to decide before you order
Steering is manual as standard on this tractor. Power steering is an available upgrade and it is worth the money if the tractor will spend its life on a loader or turning at the headland all day. If it is a yard tractor or a topper machine, manual steering is fine and plenty of people prefer the feel.
Front weights and a sun canopy are also available as extras. Tell us how the tractor will be used and we will spec it before it ships.
Freight is a flat $550 to the continental US, prices in US dollars. Thirty days from delivery to return it. Call (712) 356-0109 or email sales@acornmachinery.com.
