Forty-four feet is past the point where a bumper pull is sensible, which is exactly why this ATC ROM 500 is a gooseneck. Put the hitch point over the truck’s rear axle and a long trailer stops levering the back of the truck around on crosswind and camber. At this length, that is not a preference. It is the only way to tow it properly.
Three 7,000-pound axles
Twenty-one thousand pounds of axle capacity under an all-aluminum body. Aluminum keeps the tare weight down so more of the rating goes to what you are actually hauling, whether that is multiple vehicles, a mobile business build-out or equipment. Spread Dexter torsion axles ride quieter than springs and there is no equalizer to service.
Loading and access
The beavertail flattens the ramp angle for low vehicles and the rear wing with LED lighting covers the part of loading that happens after dark. A winch plate handles anything that will not drive on. The escape door has a removable wheel well, so you can get a door open with a vehicle parked tight against the wall. A hydraulic jack does the lifting at hookup.
Inside
White screwless aluminum walls and ceiling with black coin flooring. Grey carpet lines the gooseneck riser, which is the surface you crawl over most and the one that would otherwise be bare metal. Four 5,000 lb recessed floor D-rings, a premium LED electrical package, and it comes wired and framed for A/C so the upgrade later is a bolt-in rather than a teardown. Aluminum wheels and an interior spare mount with a matching spare.
